A clinical olservation was made on 70 cases of klebsiella pneumonia, who were admitted to Chungnam University Hospital and National Medical Center, Seoul, Korea from January, 1971 to December, 1976.
1 In age and sex distribution, high incidence, was noted in the group of fifth decade and the male to female ratio was 3.4:1.
2. Fever and chill were the most common symptoms in this study and productive coughing, dyspnea, chest pain, epigastric dull pain,and hemoptys followed in order,of frequency.
3. The predisposing factors and/or associated diseases were found in 82.9% of patients and disurbance of consciousness was the most common predisposing factor and pulmonaryy tuberculosis was the most common associated disease.
4. The most frequently involved area, of the lung on the chest x-ray was the right upper lope
5. Leukocytosis (above 10, 000/cu mm) was found in 62.8% and leukopenia (below 5000/cu. mm) in 8.6% of the patient
